Parent Coaching Online – Support for Parents in the UK

Why "Trying Harder" Isn't Fixing The Chaos: A somatic Approach To Parenting

Most parents who reach out to work with me are not short on information. They’ve read the parenting books, listened to the podcasts, maybe even spent hours late at night asking ChatGPT what they’re doing wrong  and yet parenting still feels hard.

When I speak with parents, they often tell me they feel guilty for shouting at their children, or ashamed that they slipped into a rage spiral they promised themselves they’d never repeat. Others describe feeling completely depleted by the end of the day, snapping, checking out, bribing their kids, or threatening consequences they don’t actually want to use.

If this sounds familiar, I want you to hear this clearly: you are not a bad parent - you are an overwhelmed parent.

Parents today are carrying more than ever before. Many families require two full-time incomes just to survive. There is less support, less rest, less community, and far more pressure to “get it right.” The margin for error is tiny, yet the expectations placed on parents are enormous.

So when your child melts down, resists, or needs more than you can give in that moment, it isn’t because you don’t love them enough or haven’t learned the right technique. It’s because your nervous system has reached capacity.

You don’t shout because you don’t care.

You shout because your system is flooded.

Most parenting advice focuses on what to do the right words, the right responses, the right strategies. But when your nervous system is overwhelmed, those tools are no longer accessible. In those moments, your body is in survival mode, not conscious choice.

This is why insight alone doesn’t create lasting change.

Real change happens when parents learn how to support their own nervous system first  so they can stay present, connected, and responsive even when things feel hard.

And that’s where this work begins.

How Parent Coaching Works Online

Online parent coaching sessions are held via secure video platforms like Zoom, allowing you to work safely from home while maintaining privacy and comfort.

Sessions are tailored to your needs, focusing on:

  • Practical strategies for common parenting challenges

  • Emotional regulation techniques for both parent and child

  • Somatic awareness to help you respond calmly, even in stressful moments

Being at home often allows your nervous system to settle more easily, making the coaching experience more effective and deeply integrated.

Who can benefit from Parent Coaching?

Parent coaching can help parents who experience: Overwhelm, stress, or burnout Guilt, shame, or perfectionism in parenting Difficulty regulating emotions or responding calmly Challenges with children’s behavior or relational patterns Desire for practical strategies combined with somatic awareness Many parents find that online parent coaching not only improves their parenting skills but also supports their own emotional resilience and nervous system regulation.
