I offer online somatic therapy across the UK using Somatic Experiencing a gentle, body-based approach to trauma healing that works directly with your nervous system. My ethos is slower is faster and less is more. Many clients find that working from the safety of their own home allows them to fully slow down and lean into the support of their home environment. 

 

In sessions clients learn to track what their body is holding in order to allow incomplete stress responses to resolve naturally. It can be difficult to articulate exactly what happens in a Somatic experiencing session as its a body based therapy that is less cognitive than other therapies out there. In an SE session, it isn’t about reliving the past, but about helping build more capacity in the nervous system to hand life’s challenges.

 

Sessions are available online for clients across London, Manchester, Brighton, Birmingham and throughout the UK.

What Is Somatic Therapy?

Somatic therapy is a body-oriented approach to emotional healing. Rather than focusing only on thoughts and stories, it includes sensations, impulses and nervous system responses.

When we experience stress or trauma, the body often holds the unfinished survival energy of fight, flight or freeze. Over time, this can show up as anxiety, chronic tension, burnout, emotional numbness or feeling stuck.

By gently bringing awareness to bodily sensations in a safe and regulated way, somatic therapy allows your nervous system to complete what it couldn’t at the time.

What is Somatic Experiencing?

Somatic Experiencing® was developed by Peter Levine and is one of the leading nervous system-based trauma therapies.

It works “bottom-up,” meaning we support change through the body rather than forcing insight through cognition alone.

In online Somatic Experiencing sessions, we may:

  • Track subtle shifts in sensation

  • Notice impulses to move or protect

  • Work gently with fight, flight, freeze or shutdown

  • Build capacity for regulation and safety

It is slow, respectful and deeply attuned.

Does Somatic Therapy Work Online?

Yes. Somatic therapy online can be deeply effective.

Your nervous system does not require a physical therapy room to shift. Regulation happens through safety, pacing, presence and co-regulation  all of which can be cultivated online.
